The Society for Armenian Studies (SAS) marked its 50th Anniversary with a three-day groundbreaking international conference at Harvard University and the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR). Titled “Armenian Studies: Evolving Connections and Conversations,” the conference took place September 13-15, 2024.

Ari Şekeryan’s "The Armenians and the Fall of the Ottoman Empire: After Genocide, 1918–1923" (Cambridge University Press, 2023) have been awarded this year’s Der Mugrdechian SAS Outstanding Book Award. Talar Chahinian was a co-winner.

Dr. Victoria Abrahamyan Awarded SAS Distinguished Dissertation Award (2020-2023)

The Society for Armenian Studies (SAS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Victoria Abrahamyan has been chosen to receive the SAS Distinguished Dissertation Award (2020-2023) for “Between the Homeland and the Hostland: (Re)Claiming the Armenian Refugees in French Mandatory Syria, 1918-1946.”

Thank you for expressing an interest in membership in the Society for Armenian Studies. Academicians and professionals other than academicians who are in a position to make a scholarly contribution to the field of Armenian studies are encouraged to apply for regular membership. Post graduates with an interest in the field may apply as student members. Those who have an interest in the field are invited to be supporting members in order to encourage the Society with their financial contributions.

Please upload a current Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF format with your application.

After submitting your request for Membership, the Executive Council will review your application. When you have been approved for membership, you will:

1) receive an email with your password. Once you log into the website, you will have an option to update your profile information and change your password. You will also have access to the Membership Directory, SAS Newsletters, and SAS Journal.

2) receive a link with instructions on how pay for your membership.

Membership
Regular – $75 USD per year (Income level under $50,000)
-$100 USD (Income level of $50,000 to $99,999)
-$125 USD (Income level of $100,000 and up)

Retired – $50 USD per year
Student – $50 USD per year
Supporting – $100 minimum
Institutional – $500 USD per year
