IAALA

Mission

The last few decades have witnessed the enrichment of existing libraries and archives that hold Armenian materials of all types as well as the creation of new private and public facilities both in the United States and around the globe.

The International Association of Armenian Libraries and Archives (IAALA) was founded to provide a forum to discuss topics of interest, to seek solutions to problems and questions, to digitally map and surface these archives, and to establish a connection between scholars and researchers who either may need services or who may not know where needed materials exist.

IAALA, formed in 2021 to address the needs of information specialists worldwide, will strive to bring them together to network and share ideas and research, and work to highlight and surface large and small repositories of Armenian materials, discuss issues and solutions as regards preservation and access, work towards common goals, and make accessibility to all Armenian-related materials possible.
