The Institute of Armenian Studies is seeking a Deputy Director who will work with the Institute director to deepen the Institute’s engagement in strengthening the field of Armenian Studies, to help shape policies by and about Armenians and Armenia.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Expand research and scholarship initiatives. The director will work to enhance the Institute’s integration with campus-based and off-campus entities whose research interests intersect with the Institute’s, and will also focus on the Institute’s Armenia-based programming.
  • Identify new and necessary areas of study, design calls, and manage the proposal selection process for the Institute’s areas of inquiry.
  • Initiate and develop research and programming on the Armenian experience in the Diaspora, from language, art, sciences to security of communities in the Middle East and strategic cooperation between the Diaspora and Armenia.
  • Focus on new research on the forces and factors that shape and impact the Republic of Armenia and Armenian identity.
